Based on the Marxist-Leninist perspective, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and the viewpoints, guidelines, and policies of the Party and State on religious issues, and combined with survey, field research, participation, interview, comparison, and analysis methods, this thesis has initially achieved the following results:

- In Chapter 1, the author presented a general overview of the Mother Goddess worship and the spirit possession rituals of the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta.

- In Chapter 2, the author points out and analyzes some of the main changes in the spirit possession ritual. At the same time, he outlines the fundamental causes leading to these changes and offers some recommendations to promote positive changes and limit negative changes in the spirit possession ritual within the Mother Goddess worship belief of the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta today.

11. Practical applications:

- This thesis will contribute to the study of the cultural values ​​of the Mother Goddess worship in general and the spirit possession ritual of the Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta in particular.

- This thesis can be used as a reference material in research and teaching at institutions that offer courses related to traditional culture and beliefs in Vietnam.

The thesis is based on the perspectives of Marxism - Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Ideology, perspectives, guidelines and policies the Vietnamese Communist Party and State about religions. Methodologies applied in the thesis includes survey, fieldwork, participation, interview, comparison and analysis. The thesis has obtained some initial achievements as follows:

- In Chapter 1, the thesis provides a brief introduction of the Mother Goddess Worship in general and “Len Dong” ritual of Vietnamese people in the Northern Delta.

- In Chapter 2, the thesis points out and analyzes some major changes in “Len Dong” ritual. The thesis also demonstrates underlying reasons for such changes in “Len Dong” ritual and gives some recommendations to develop positive changes and limit negative ones in the Mother Goddess Worship in general and “Len Dong” ritual of Vietnamese people in the Red River Delta.
