By exploring and researching the New Poetry movement from a theoretical and creative inspiration perspective regarding the issue of transcending reality and the methods of transcending it, this thesis attempts to show the differences between new and old poetry, to see the contributions of poets in terms of content and artistry, and to help affirm the value of this body of poetry in the flow of Vietnamese poetry.

With the topic "Methods of Escaping Reality in Vietnamese New Poetry 1932-1945," this thesis aims to affirm, on the one hand, to affirm that escaping reality is a dominant inspiration that governs the thematic system and favorite imagery of the New Poetry movement. Escape here is not simply an escape from the suffocating reality of life for the New Poetry self; it is also an escape from the old, from tradition, and from cultural limitations to embrace modern ideas and art. At the same time, it shows that this method of escaping reality shaped the aesthetic spirit and thought of the New Poetry poets, creating the certain value and achievements of the New Poetry movement in the modernization process of Vietnamese literature.
