Korea and Vietnam have many similarities in history, culture, and people, and thanks to those similarities, both countries always have the determination to overcome the pain of the past to move towards normalizing relations. Finally, on December 22, 1992, Korea and Vietnam established official diplomatic relations. Up to now, the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries has gone through 30 years with memorable milestones. The relationship was established from 1992 to 2001, upgrading the relationship to a "comprehensive partnership" in the 21st century and since 2009 has become a "strategic cooperative partnership" and has been constantly strengthened, promoting cooperation on both bilateral and multilateral levels towards the highest level of strategic partnership "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" in 2022. The thesis has pointed out the great achievements in all fields from economics, trade, investment, to culture, education, tourism, science and technology... of the relationship from 1992 to 2022. From there, it shows that the cooperation opportunities as well as the potential for cooperation between the two countries are still very large, promising to bring bright and good prospects for the relationship between the two countries.
From the research and evaluation of the development process of Korea - Vietnam relations in this period, the thesis has made forecasts and some policy recommendations so that the cooperative relationship between Korea and Vietnam will develop more deeply.
