The thesis has studied the general theoretical issues of using financial instruments to promote scientific research activities in general and scientific research in universities in Vietnam. Pointing out the characteristics of scientific research activities in universities. Showing financial instruments in general and financial instruments used in universities. Thereby clarifying the role of using financial instruments to promote scientific research activities in universities, subjective and objective factors affecting the use of these sources of instruments; The thesis focuses on analyzing in depth the current situation of using financial instruments to promote scientific research activities at two universities in Hai Duong province, Hai Duong University and Hai Duong Medical Technical University.
