11. Summary of project results:
The project reviewed research on depression worldwide and in Vietnam, including epidemiological information, studies by gender, age group, risk of onset, and symptom manifestation. Concepts of depression, student behavior, causes of depression, diagnostic criteria for major depressive disorders according to DSM-5, and some psychological characteristics of students provided an important theoretical foundation within the scope of the project. Besides providing information on methods for evaluating clinical cases, the project also presented the theory of intervention using a cognitive-behavioral approach, particularly for subjects exhibiting depressive symptoms.
This project presented the psychological intervention process for a male student exhibiting symptoms of depression. The intervention results showed that the client experienced a reduction in depressive symptoms, increased participation in new activities to improve mood, and adjusted his daily routine accordingly. As a result, his motivation to work improved, and his sleep quality improved. The client recognized the connection between cognition, emotion, and behavior in various situations, thereby practicing changes to negative automatic thoughts and enhancing his ability to cope with undesirable situations in the future. Finally, the client became more confident in expressing himself in close relationships.
12. Practical applications:
Based on the results obtained from theoretical and practical research in clinical case interventions, the project has provided further evidence of the effectiveness of the cognitive-behavioral approach in intervening in depressive symptoms in students, especially male students.
At the same time, the limitations of the project have provided useful lessons learned, supporting future clinical practitioners in improving the effectiveness of therapy using a cognitive-behavioral approach.

11. Summary of the findings of the project:
The project has reviewed studies on depression in the world and in Vietnam, including epidemiological information, studies by gender, age group, risk of onset and symptom expression. The concepts of depression, students, causes of depression, diagnostic criteria for major depressive disorder according to DSM-5 and some psychological characteristics of students have provided an important theoretical foundation within the scope of the project. In addition to providing information on methods of assessing a clinical case, the project also presents the theory of intervention according to the cognitive behavioral approach, especially on the group of subjects with symptoms of depression.
The project presents the process of psychological intervention for a male student with symptoms of depression. The intervention results showed that the client reduced the level of depressive symptoms, increased practice of new activities to improve mood and adjusted the schedule appropriately. On that basis, the client's motivation to work is enhanced, the quality of sleep is improved. The client recognizes the connection between perception, emotion and behavior in many situations, thereby practicing changing negative automatic thoughts and enhancing coping with unwanted situations in the future. Finally, the client is more confident when expressing himself in close relationships.
12. Practical applicability:
Based on the results obtained from the theoretical and practical research process in clinical intervention, the project has provided further evidence on the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral approach in intervening depressive symptoms in students, especially male students.
At the same time, the limitations of the project have provided useful lessons, supporting future clinical practitioners in the process of improving the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy.
