Literature reviews on depression indicate that this is one of the most common mood disorders, affecting individuals' cognition, emotions, and behavior. Some factors that affect depression include: biological factors, psychological factors, and social factors. Psychological intervention using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy has been shown to be effective in helping clients identify and change distorted thinking, learn to manage emotions, enhance communication and social adaptation skills, thereby reducing the level of depression.
