It provides an overview of consumer rights protection policies in Vietnam from the past to the present, through two main aspects: the main regulations on consumer rights protection and the agencies and organizations implementing consumer rights protection. A notable contribution of this thesis is that, through the argument that "protecting consumer rights is achieving social justice," it highlights the socio-humanistic significance of protecting consumer rights in a rule-of-law society in general, and in different stages and periods of socio-economic development in particular. At the same time, it concisely and systematically outlines the role of the press in participating in the protection of consumer rights in our country in recent years. Most notably, the press has contributed to changing perceptions and forming a new worldview for consumers regarding their legitimate rights and the ways to protect those rights when using goods and services. This is a noteworthy new highlight in the thesis's approach to a topic that is not entirely new, but also not entirely new. This thesis examines the role of journalism in practice, analyzing selected newspapers to evaluate their content and style in reflecting the most prominent and important issues in consumer rights protection in Vietnam from January 2008 to December 2010. It also highlights the unique characteristics of each newspaper and the different approaches of each section and page on consumer rights protection. From this, it draws lessons learned and proposes specific solutions to improve the effectiveness of journalism, contributing positively to the sustainable socio-economic development of the country in general, and consumer rights protection in particular, in the current period. 11. Practical Applications: With the topic of protecting consumer rights – a topical issue of great concern to society in the context of the 2010 Law on Consumer Rights Protection having just been officially implemented – this thesis contributes to redefining and strengthening the position and role of the press in this matter. Furthermore, through this thesis, managers, businesses, and consumers can identify (or re-identify) the strengths and weaknesses of the press in protecting consumer rights, thereby making necessary adjustments and changes when coordinating and cooperating with press agencies in disseminating information on this field. Meanwhile, newspaper editorial offices and their teams of reporters, editors, and contributors can find in this thesis accurate analyses and assessments of the current state of consumer rights protection propaganda in the press. Simultaneously, we encounter solutions and suggestions that offer guidance for improving the effectiveness of reporting and information on the aforementioned "hot" topic. 12.
