Summary of thesis results: This thesis studies the current state of operation of the specialized television channel for young people, VTV6 (Youth Department, Vietnam Television). The thesis conducts a survey of the audience, consisting of viewers aged 13-24 who have watched VTV6 in Hanoi, Nghe An, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, Hoa Binh, and Quang Ninh. Through this, the thesis draws some basic conclusions as follows: - Television channels for young people are a type of media that has not yet attracted many young viewers, especially the main target audience of students. - Because VTV6 has been broadcasting on cable television for the past three years and only started its promotional broadcast on September 7, 2010, it has focused primarily on serving the needs of young people with access to it (mainly in urban areas), so young people in rural areas have not had many opportunities to access this channel. - VTV6 has only met the entertainment needs of viewers and has not yet met the needs of young viewers for learning, expanding their knowledge, and self-improvement. - The programs on VTV6 are generally monotonous, lacking flagship programs or truly outstanding programs to create a lasting impression on viewers and attract sponsors and advertisers. - Socializing television is a very effective solution to develop television channels for teenagers, especially in attracting young people to participate in program production. - The Youth Department needs to regularly conduct sociological surveys on the needs and psychology of young audiences to promptly understand and adapt to the realities of youth life. Through this research, the thesis draws some lessons learned and proposes solutions to improve the quality of specialized television channels for youth in Vietnam. 11. Practical applications: - It can be applied to contribute to improving the effectiveness of specialized programs for youth on VTV6, making VTV6 the leading specialized television channel for youth in Vietnam, in line with the slogan: "A meeting space for young people". - At the same time, the thesis hopes to contribute to comprehensive guidance, education, and "clean" entertainment information for young people. This will make television programs for youth "truly youthful" and gradually narrow the gap with similar channels worldwide. 12. Future research directions: None 13. Imade a survey that concentrated on the audience has seen VTV6 aged 13-24 in Hanoi, Nghe An, Thai Nguyen, HaiPhong, HoaBinh and QuangNinh province. Some important conclusions are listed as follows: - The channel for young people, the type of press, is not attracted many young viewers, especially major audiences: pupils and students. - Because VTV6 broadcast on cable television within three years and only broadcast from 09.07.2010 to promote, it only focuses on serving the needs of the youth who have fair conditions living (mainly in urban) and the young people in rural areas do not have many opportunities to meet with this channel. - VTV6 only met the entertainment demands of the audience, but did not meet the demands of learning, expanding knowledge, self-improving for young audiences. - The programs of VTV6 are monotone. There are not remarkable programs, which are really outstanding to make a deep impression to the audience as well as attractive to sponsors and advertisers. - Television socialization is very effective solution to develop channels for teens, especially in attracting young people to take part in producing programs. - Your Department needs to operate regular sociological surveys to realize the demands and psychology of the youth in order to keep up with them.
