Summary of the results of the thesis: The thesis studies the current status of the activities of the specialized television channel for young people VTV6 (Youth Department, Vietnam Television). The thesis conducts a survey of the audience group of viewers who have watched VTV6 between the ages of 13-24 in Hanoi, Nghe An, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, Hoa Binh and Quang Ninh. Thereby, the thesis draws some basic conclusions as follows: - Television channels for young people are a type of journalism that has not attracted many young audiences, especially the main target audience of students. - Because VTV6 has been broadcast on cable TV for the past 3 years and has only been on air since September 7, 2010, it has only focused on serving the needs of young people who can receive it (mainly in urban areas), so young people in rural areas have not had many opportunities to access this channel. - VTV6 has only met the entertainment needs of the audience but has not met the needs of learning, expanding knowledge, and self-improvement of young audiences. - VTV6's programs are generally still regular, there are no key programs, no truly outstanding programs to create a deep impression on the audience as well as attract sponsors and advertising customers. - Socializing television is a very effective solution to develop television channels for teenagers, especially attracting young people to participate in producing programs. - The Youth Union needs to regularly conduct sociological surveys on the needs and psychology of the young public to promptly grasp and change according to the practical life of young people. Through this research, the thesis draws some lessons and proposes solutions to improve the quality of specialized television channels for young people in Vietnam. 11. Practical applicability: - Can be applied to contribute to improving the effectiveness of specialized programs for young people on VTV6 channel, making VTV6 the leading specialized television channel in Vietnam for young people, true to the slogan: "A meeting space for young people". - At the same time, the thesis hopes to contribute to the orientation, comprehensive education and "clean" entertainment information for young people. From there, make television programs for young people "truly young" and gradually narrow the gap with similar channels in the world. 12. Further research directions: None 13. Imade a survey that concentrated on the audience has seen VTV6 aged 13-24 in Hanoi, Nghe An, Thai Nguyen, HaiPhong, HoaBinh and QuangNinh province. Some important conclusions are listed as follows: - The channel for young people, the type of press, is not attracted many young viewers, especially major audiences: pupils and students. - Because VTV6 broadcast on cable television within three years and only broadcast from July 9, 2010 to promote, it only focuses on serving the needs of the youth who have fair conditions living (mainly in urban) and the young people in rural areas do not have many opportunities to meet with this channel. - VTV6 only met the entertainment demands of the audience, but did not meet the demands of learning, expanding knowledge, self-improving for young audiences. - The programs of VTV6 are monotone. There are not remarkable programs, which are really outstanding to make a deep impression to the audience as well as attractive to sponsors and advertisers. - Television socialization is very effective solution to develop channels for teens, especially in attracting young people to take part in producing programs. - Your Department needs to operate regular sociological surveys to realize the demands and psychology of the youth in order to keep up with them.
