10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis uses a quantitative research method, surveying 531 Gen Z individuals working in digital businesses in Hanoi from September 2023 to February 2024. The study aims to describe the current state of work motivation among Gen Z and explore the impact of transformational leadership styles on their work motivation. The research results show that transformational leadership has a positive influence on the work motivation of Gen Z, helping to enhance enthusiasm, commitment, and work efficiency.
Furthermore, the study also indicates that narcissism is a mediating factor in the relationship between transformational leadership and work motivation. This means that employees with narcissistic tendencies experience higher work motivation when exposed to transformational leadership. Additionally, length of service at the company acts as a moderating variable, increasing the influence of transformational leadership on work motivation while decreasing its influence on narcissism.
The results of this thesis not only provide insight into the impact of transformational leadership in boosting the work motivation of Generation Z, but also suggest ways for businesses to effectively apply this leadership style to improve employee performance and engagement in an increasingly digitized environment.
