The thesis has reviewed domestic and foreign works on community tourism development research. On that basis, the author has systematized theoretical issues and community tourism (concept, characteristics, significance, development conditions, thereby providing an analytical framework applied in community tourism development research). Based on geographical, historical, natural, socio-economic and ethnic conditions, the thesis has pointed out the natural and cultural potentials and the combination of nature and culture to develop tourism. By using observation, in-depth interviews, questionnaires... and analyzing primary and secondary data, the thesis has pointed out the tourism products being exploited and the current status of tourism product exploitation in Binh Lieu district. From there, the thesis evaluates the ability to improve the livelihoods of local people and the satisfaction of tourists with the destination. From the above situations, the thesis proposes solutions on promoting natural and cultural resources, planning, regional linkage, tourism promotion and advertising, encouraging local community participation, investment policy mechanisms and public-private partnerships, upgrading infrastructure, developing human resources, etc.
