10. Summary of the results of the thesis:

Parent-child relationships are important to children's development (Bowlby, 1958; Baumirind, 1971; Rutter & Sroufe, 2000). Based on the synthesis of research documents, building an overview and theoretical basis, clarifying the basic concepts of the topic (parent-child relationships, language development; preschool children) in the field of social psychology, this study has deeply investigated the correlation between parent-child relationships and children's language development. A survey including scales on parent-child relationships and scales on children's language development (based on the Vineland-II scale, adapted in Vietnam, 2015) along with demographic data and other descriptive characteristics was conducted. The survey received 201 responses from parents of preschool children with full content. The results show the status of parent-child relationships as well as parents' subjective assessments of the level of language development of children in the study sample. Parent-child relationships and preschool children's language development are positively correlated. This relationship is moderated by mediating variables related to the time parents spend with their children, the importance of time parents spend talking with their children, and daily meals with their children, etc. These results also provide indicators that are the basis for the study's recommendations for parents to spend time and improve the quality of time doing activities with their children to facilitate their children's development, especially in the language area.

11. Practical application:

Research on the relationship between parent-child relationships and children's language development has produced practical results. These results are the basis for recommendations to raise parents' awareness, helping them improve the parent-child relationship in a positive way to help children develop the best language possible under their conditions.

12. Further research directions:

The results of the project have laid the foundation for the following prospective research directions: (1) longitudinal research project, examining children's development in general and language development in particular in relation to the quality of the parent-child relationship; (2) research project comparing the correlation between actual results of children's language development (assessment by experts) and children's language development (according to subjective assessment of parents); (3) research project comparing the correlation between the relationship between children and fathers, the relationship between children and mothers with children's development, especially language development.

10. Summary of the thesis results:

The parent-child relationship is important to a child's development (Bowlby, 1958; Baumirind, 1971; Rutter & Sroufe, 2000). Based on the synthesis of research documents, building an overview and theoretical basis, clarifying the basic concepts (parent-child relationship, language development; preschool children) in the field of social psychology, this study explores the correlation between parent-child relationship and children's language development. A survey of parent-child relationship scales and children's language development scales (based on the Vineland-II scale, adapted in Vietnam, 2015) with demographic description and other characteristics was carried out. The research obtained 201 responses from parents of preschool children with full content. The results show the reality of the parent-child relationship and the children's language development in the sample. There is a proportional correlation between the parent-child relationship and the preschool children's language development. This is moderated by the variables of the time that the parents spend with their children, the importance of parental time to their child and the sharing meals every day. These results provide also indicators for a basis of the recommendations for parents to spend time and improve the quality of time with their children in order to facilitate the child development, especially in the language development.

11.Practical applicability:

This research describes the reality of the parent-child relationship and the child's language development. The results are the basis for making recommendations to raise awareness of parents, to help them improve the appropriate parent-child relationship in a direction in which the language of children develops the best.

12. Further research directions:

The results of this study lay the foundation for further research directions: (1) longitudinal research of the child development in general and their language development in particular with the parent-child relationship; (2) comparative research of the child's language development (expert assessment) and the child's language development (according to the cognitive assessment of the parents); (3) research on the relation of the relationship between the child and the father, between the child and the mother and the child's development, especially their language development.
