The main results of the thesis include:
(1). The thesis determines the impact of parents working far away on children's learning through the average score of study, GPA of Math, Literature, Foreign Language and children's school problems including school violence, learning problems, problems with teachers and problems of obeying school rules.
(2). The results of the study on 327 children with an average age of 13.11 (standard deviation = 2.01), 158 boys (48.3%) and 169 girls (51.7%), 211 of whom had parents working far away, 116 of whom lived with their parents in the two provinces of Thai Nguyen and Thai Binh showed that the average overall academic score of the children and the average scores of Math, Literature, and Foreign Language of the children whose parents worked far away were at a fairly good level.
(3). Analysis of the impact of parents' working hours on average scores and learning problems encountered by children shows that: there is no difference in learning outcomes and school problems between the group of children living with their parents and the group of children whose parents work far away; The results of univariate regression analysis show that the impact of parents' working hours on learning outcomes and school problems encountered by children is insignificant and not statistically significant;
(4). Factors that protect children from school problems include the following types of psychological resilience: emotional control; seeking support from family; goal orientation. In addition, caregivers who care about children are also a factor that helps protect children from problems encountered in school. In contrast, caregivers who control children are a factor that increases school problems in children whose parents work far away.
(5). The impact of parents working far away on children's academic performance and school problems was not found in this study.
