10. Summary of the thesis results:

The structure of this thesis, titled "Cultural Diplomacy in Enhancing China's Soft Power in Southeast Asia in the First Ten Years of the 21st Century," is divided into three chapters.

Chapter 1, "China's Perspective on Increasing Soft Power Through Cultural Appeal," outlines the views of Chinese state leaders and academics on increasing cultural soft power.

Chapter 2 outlines China's methods of foreign cultural exchange in Southeast Asia. Here, through methods such as film and television, art festivals, and the establishment of Confucius Institutes, the aim is to promote the spread of Chinese culture throughout Southeast Asia and create a deep impression of Chinese culture in the hearts of its people.

Chapter 3, "Prospects for China's Cultural Diplomacy in Southeast Asia in the Coming Years," not only addresses some existing issues in cultural diplomacy that need to be resolved, but also presents the prospects for China's cultural diplomacy from now until 2020 with Vietnam in particular and Southeast Asian countries in general.

The term "soft power," since its inception, has served as a benchmark for comparison with the overall strength of a state. This means that state power is not only composed of traditional hard power such as economic and military strength, but also includes cultural resources. Culture can make other countries perceive a nation as attractive, leading them to pursue diplomatic policies aimed at gaining respect. China, currently on a path of peaceful development and rise, pays particular attention to leveraging its soft power to build a healthy and positive state image. While developing partnerships with countries in the region and around the world, China has recognized the importance of cultural soft power. Therefore, when developing and strengthening bilateral relations with Southeast Asian countries (ASEAN), it has implemented cultural diplomacy to continuously enhance China-ASEAN cooperation, alleviate Southeast Asian countries' concerns about China's rise, and refute the Western argument of "the China threat."

11. Practical applications: (if any)

The entire research findings of this thesis are immediately applicable in practice. The research results will help China build a database on the soft power of Chinese culture in Southeast Asia, and strengthen the understanding of soft power as culture, while making the implementation of foreign policy with Southeast Asian countries more effective. The solutions and proposals presented are based on reality and are practically applicable.

12. Future research directions: (if any)

This thesis is not yet sufficient to delve deeper into the cultural soft power of Southeast Asian countries, especially Vietnam. Vietnam, being both a neighboring country and part of Southeast Asia, a region where China is particularly interested in and expanding its influence, has a long-standing cultural relationship with China and is heavily influenced by that culture. However, does Vietnam possess cultural soft power? What are the characteristics of this cultural influence, and how can Vietnam increase its soft power in its foreign relations with neighboring countries in the region as well as other countries around the world? These questions are hopefully addressed by experts and scholars conducting this research.
