Chapter 2 is about the methods of China's foreign cultural exchange activities in Southeast Asia. Chapter 3 is the Prospects of Chinese Cultural Diplomacy in Southeast Asia in the Coming Years. This section not only mentions some existing problems in cultural diplomacy that need to be overcome, but also presents the prospects for China's cultural diplomacy from now until 2020 for Vietnam in particular and Southeast Asian countries in general.
The term “soft power” has become a standard of reference for comparison with the overall strength of the state since its inception, that is, state power is not only composed of traditional hard powers such as economy and military, but also includes cultural resources. Culture can make other countries feel the attractiveness of a country, making people turn to a foreign policy that can gain respect. China is now firmly on the path of peaceful rise, paying special attention to the issue of promoting soft power to build a healthy and good state image. While developing partnerships with countries in the region and the world, China has recognized the importance of cultural soft power, so when developing and strengthening bilateral relations with Southeast Asian countries (ASEAN), it has deployed cultural diplomacy to help China-ASEAN cooperation relations to be continuously enhanced, to reduce Southeast Asian countries' concerns about China's rise and refute the West's "China Threat" argument.
11. Practical application: (if any)
The entire research results of the thesis can be applied in practice right from the present time. The research results of the thesis will help China build a database on Chinese cultural soft power in Southeast Asia, and make the perception of research projects on soft power as culture more firmly and sustainably tightened, while implementing foreign policy with Southeast Asian countries will be more effective, the solutions and suggestions given are all based on reality and can be used in practice.
12. Further research directions: (if any)
The content of the thesis is not qualified to mention the cultural soft power of Southeast Asian countries in more depth, especially Vietnam. Vietnam is a neighboring country and a part of Southeast Asia, where China is particularly interested in and expanding its influence, has a long-standing cultural relationship with China, and is greatly influenced by that culture. However, does Vietnam have cultural soft power? Are there cultural influences and what are they? How will Vietnam increase its soft power in foreign diplomacy with neighboring countries in the region as well as other countries around the world? The above questions are all hoped that people and specialized scholars can mention them while conducting research.
