After a short period of operation, with the ingenuity of the leader, editor Pham Quynh shifted the magazine's content towards academics, studying Eastern and Western cultures, especially Vietnamese culture with the aim of raising the people's will and spirit. After seventeen years of continuous active activities (1917 - 1934)Nam Phong magazinehas published 210 issues, with about 35,000 pages in Quoc Ngu, French and Chinese characters. This is an extremely valuable document on literature as well as literature, referring to confronting the Western mechanical and chemical civilization that the French empire wanted to impose in order to erase the long-standing Confucianism of our ancestors.
