The thesis has clarified the geo-security and geo-economic roles of Cam Ranh Bay for Vietnam's international cooperation through the relationship between Vietnam and the major powers here. The thesis also proves that Vietnam's policies to promote international cooperation in Cam Ranh Bay are reasonable and strategic, and outlines the advantages and limitations of implementing this policy in Cam Ranh in the current context. In addition, on the basis of synthesizing the difficulties, advantages, opportunities and challenges, the thesis has proposed a number of solutions to further promote the role of Cam Ranh Bay in Vietnam's international cooperation.

Finally, the thesis contributes to building materials for international cooperation research in general and Cam Ranh research in particular in Vietnam, presenting a different and more complete perspective on Cam Ranh Bay by emphasizing the geo-security and geo-economic role of the famous deep-water bay.

The practical significance of the research is to demonstrate the strategic importance of Cam Ranh Bay in Vietnam's international cooperation, thereby proposing solutions to use this bay most effectively. Through analyzing the strategic advantages of Cam Ranh, the special interests of the great powers and the advantages and difficulties in promoting international cooperation here of Vietnam; the topic can be applied in the work of building strategies for Cam Ranh.

With its location near hot spots in the East Sea and the East China Sea, the study of Cam Ranh's geo-security and geo-economic role also contributes significantly to finding solutions to maritime disputes. In addition, the thesis can also be used as a valuable reference source for studies on international cooperation policies in general as well as studies on Vietnam's foreign policy and major power balancing policy in particular.

The thesis clarifies the geo-political and geo – economic roles of Cam Ranh Bay in Vietnam's international cooperation in prism of relations between Vietnam and great nations. The Thesis also proves Vietnam's policies on investment encouragement in Cam Ranh Bay is proper and strategic, at the same time, it delineates Vietnam's advantages and disadvantages in executing these policies in the present context. Besides, through an assessment of Cam Ranh's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats; the thesis suggests some solutions for further promotion of Cam Ranh's role in Vietnam's international cooperation.

Finally, the thesis partly contributes to data base for studies of international cooperation and Cam Ranh Bay in Vietnam by providing a different, more sufficient perspective to Cam Ranh Bay study with emphasizing on it's geo – political and geo – economic roles.

The practical significance of thesis study is to prove Cam Ranh Bay's strategic importance in Vietnam's international cooperation, then propose solutions which helps Vietnam take full advantage of Cam Ranh Bay. Through analysis of Camranh's strategic advantages, great powers' interest in the bay and Vietnam's advantages and difficulties in investment encouragement; the thesis can be applied in determination strategies helps make the best of using Cam Ranh Bay.

Thanks to its near location from “hot points” in East Sea and East China sea; study of Cam Ranh Bay's geo – political and geo – economic roles also significantly contributes to searching remedies for sea conflicts. Besides, the thesis can be used as a valuable reference for studies of international cooperation in general as well as studies of Vietnam's foreign policy and balancing policy in particular.
