The research issues in this thesis are based on fundamental theoretical foundations derived from documents, books, and practical experience at Ca Mau Radio and Television Station and other stations such as Hau Giang and Soc Trang. In this thesis, the author has synthesized and evaluated the field reporting activities of reporters from these stations. Through specific illustrative examples, including broadcast news articles and reports, the requirements and skills needed for field reporters are further clarified.

Through the process of researching, synthesizing, and analyzing the field reporting activities of journalists, the author of this thesis has gained valuable experience that has been beneficial to the author and in their practical work.

Based on practical issues at the Ca Mau Radio and Television Station and surveys of the Hau Giang and Soc Trang Radio and Television Stations, the author proposes solutions to improve the quality of on-location reporting. It is hoped that this thesis will contribute to the development of on-location reporting skills for colleagues, especially those at radio and television stations in the Southwest region where on-location reporting is still very limited.
