This thesis provides an overview of domestic and international studies on community tourism development. Based on this, the author systematizes the theoretical issues of community tourism (concept, characteristics, significance, development conditions), thereby providing an analytical framework applicable to community tourism development research. Based on geographical, historical, natural, socio-economic, and ethnic conditions, the thesis identifies the natural and cultural potentials, as well as the combination of natural and cultural elements, for tourism development. Using observation, in-depth interviews, questionnaires, and primary and secondary data analysis, the thesis identifies the tourism products currently being exploited and the current state of their exploitation in Binh Lieu district. From this, the thesis assesses the potential for improving the livelihoods of local people and the satisfaction of tourists with the destination. Based on the above realities, the thesis proposes solutions regarding the promotion of natural and cultural resources, planning, regional linkages, tourism promotion and marketing, encouraging local community participation, investment policy mechanisms and public-private partnerships, infrastructure upgrading, human resource development, etc.
