10. Summary of the thesis results:

This thesis has contributed to clarifying some basic theoretical issues of information resource development in information and library activities, such as clarifying the concept of information resources, identifying factors affecting information resource development; researching the current state of information resource development and providing comments and assessments on the current state of information resources as well as information resource building activities at the Hanoi University Library. Based on theoretical research and practical surveys, the thesis has proposed several solutions for developing information resources to better meet the information needs of users at Hanoi University.

The research findings of this thesis can be applied to the development of information technology capacity at Hanoi University in the current period and in the years to come.

The result of the thesis initially meets all of the purposes and tasks set out in the thesis. Specially, the thesis resolves the basic theoretical issues of information resources development in operation of Information – Library; clarify the concept of information resources, examine actual state, evaluate the development of information resources and the state of information resources at the Library of Hanoi University. On the basis of theoretical studies and surveys, the thesis proposes feasible solutions to improve the quality of information resources development activity and satisfy the need of users at Hanoi University.
