Event tourism is a relatively new type of tourism that has developed recently, but it plays a crucial role in attracting a large number of tourists and generating significant revenue for countries that have effectively exploited this type of tourism. In Vietnam in general, and Da Nang in particular, this type of tourism is quite new but has great potential.
Da Nang is the economic center of Central Vietnam, and is not only known as "livable cityDa Nang is not only famous for its unique attractions in Vietnam, but also for its distinctive landmarks such as Ba Na Hills, Son Tra Peninsula, My Khe Beach, Marble Mountains, and the Cham Sculpture Museum... Especially in recent years, Da Nang has also become known to domestic and international tourists as a city of events through successfully hosting events such as:East-West Economic Corridor Week 2007";Da Nang Investment Forum 2009andASEAN Conferences in Da Nangg (2009 - 2010);International Paragliding Competition 2012, 2013, 2014, International Marathon 2013, 2014, 2015; EWEC International Fair; CThe final round of the Miss Vietnam 2012 competition... especiallyThe only place in Vietnam to host it.Da Nang International Fireworks Competition(consecutively from 2008 to 2015). With the existing advantages of the locality, along with the attention of the local government, Da Nang is considered to have great potential to develop this type of event tourism.
The research topic "Developing Event Tourism in Da Nang" focuses on systematically reviewing the theoretical foundations of events and event tourism. Based on this, the research assesses the current state of event tourism development in Da Nang, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses; the current situation regarding the exploitation and participation of local and regional businesses in organizing national and international-scale events. Through this, it proposes solutions and recommendations for developing event tourism in Da Nang.
This research topic makes significant contributions in terms of theory and practice, helping to promote the development of tourism in general and event tourism in particular in the city, especially the development of event tourism in Da Nang.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
Event travel is a new type of traveling and has developed rapidly in recent years; However, the event travel plays an important role in attracting a huge number of tourists, and brings great revenue to exploit nations effectively this new kind of traveling.
Danang is an economic center of the central coast in Vietnam, it is not only famous for the nameLiveable Citybut also for attractive destinations such as Ba Na, Son Tra Peninsula, My Khe Beach, Ngu Hanh Son Mountain, Champa Museum, etc. Especially, in recent years, on the minds of both domestic and international tourists, Danang is known as an event city; this is suceess of city authorities' efort in deploying several events such as: East-West Economic Corridor 2007, Danang Investment Forum 2009, Asean Meeting in Danang 2009/2010, Danang International Paramotor Race 2012、2013、2014, Danang International Marathon Competition 2013 2014 2015, International Expo for the EWEC, Miss Vietnam 2012; especially, Danang is the unique city in Vietnam organizing the International Firework Competition from the year of 2008 to 2015. Based on the combanitation of existing advantages with right orientation of Danang government, the author has a strong belief that Danang is full of potentials to develop event tour.
This writing with topic Developing the Event Tour in Danang focuses on reviewing the literatures relating to event and event travel. And then, the author bases on literature section to assess the current situation of event travel in Danang by analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, and abilities of local businesses in organizing the international events. Finally, the author would like to propose some recommendations to develop the event travel in Danang.
This thesis has a helpful contribution to both arguments and facts; this aims to encourage the development of tourism industry in general and event travel as well in Danang.

This research is a helpful reference for local event companies as well as other business units. Especially, this writing is important reference resource to city government in marketing the city, improving the GDP, income; bring the benefit to local people and lead the city to the final success of strategic orientation that Danang, Tourist City – Event City of Vietnam.
