China and Vietnam are two friendly neighboring countries, mountains connected to mountains, rivers connected to rivers, so they have had long-standing exchanges in many fields, including education. Nowadays, in the process of globalization, along with the increasingly developing cooperation between China and ASEAN, the relationship between China and Vietnam is also increasingly closer, so the educational cooperation between the two countries is increasingly expanding and has achieved certain successes. Since the 1950s of the last century until now, China has had educational cooperation with Vietnam and these relationships have been increasingly developed, especially now the conditions are more clearly shown when the two countries are outlining a cooperation framework, bringing the cooperative relationship between the two countries to a new stage.

Among the educational cooperation activities, the most prominent are exchanges and cooperation in the field of higher education. The thesis mainly studies and researches the results of cooperation in higher education between the two countries that have been achieved throughout the development process from the 90s of the 20th century to the present, on that basis, it presents the achievements shown through the following aspects: educational institutions, talent training models, building a team of lecturers, reforming teaching methods and foreign exchanges, scientific research, etc.

However, cooperation in the field of higher education between China and Vietnam still has limitations such as incomplete cooperation, mainly limited to teaching and learning languages, exchanging lecturers and international students, while new development requirements such as cooperation in scientific research, vocational education, distance education, sharing of programs and documents, etc. are still slow.

Under the leadership of the two communist parties, the two governments have agreed to affirm the bilateral relationship according to the 16-word motto of "friendly neighbors, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability, and looking toward the future" and the spirit of "four goods": "good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, and good partners". Therefore, China-Vietnam educational cooperation on the basis of long-standing friendly exchanges will develop further, expand further, and become more effective.

11.Ability to apply in practice:

The thesis delves into each policy in educational cooperation between the two countries, thereby improving it and finding out the remaining shortcomings, which is of extremely important practical significance. To further promote China-Vietnam educational cooperation, the governments of the two countries need to actively implement practical content, not just stopping at agreements and joint communiqués. In the present era, educational development is an important task of each country. Therefore, the thesis is not only applicable to each region but also to the whole country. Therefore, the content and forms of cooperation will become increasingly rich and diverse.

 12. Further research directions:

The thesis will continue to research and supplement, refer to experiences and educational cooperation models of some countries in the world to improve the promotion of educational cooperation between the two countries.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

China – Vietnam are two friendly neighboring countries, mountains to mountains, rivers to rivers, therefore they have exchange relations in many fields for a very long time, which includes education. In present days of globalization process, along with the increasingly developing cooperative relationship between China and Asean, the relation between China – Vietnam has become closer and closer due to educational cooperation of both countries has been expanding and achieved some success. From the 1950s of previous till now China has been educationally cooperating with Vietnam and this relationship has been more developed especially this time, this fact has become more evident when both countries are outlining cooperation framework, taking their cooperative relationship to a new stage.

Among educational cooperation activities, the most outstanding is exchanging and cooperating in terms of higher education. The thesis mainly explores and studies the results of higher education cooperation that two nations have emerged during the process of development from 1990s of 20th century till now and on that basis it shall provide the achieved success regarding: educational institutions, talent training model, building teacher staff, reforming methods of teaching and foreign affairs communication, scientific research etc.

However, Chinese-Vietnamese higher educational cooperation still has many exclusions of the incomprehensive cooperation such as only focus on language teaching and exchange of teachers and students whereas new development's demands such as cooperation in scientific research, vocational training, distance education and programs and material sharing are still slow.

Under the leadership of both communist parties, the two governments have bilaterally agreed to affirm their shared 16-word motto “Friendly neighborliness, comprehensive cooperation, long-lasting stability and looking toward the future” and 4-good spirit “Good neighbors, good friends, good comrades and good partners”, from there, China – Vietnam educational cooperation on long lasting friendly exchange relationship basis shall become more and more developing, expanding and effective.

12.Practical applicability, if any:

The thesis has the realistic significance since it delves into each of the policies in educational cooperation between both countries to improve them besides pointing out the dangers of those policies. To promote the Chinese – Vietnamese educational cooperation, both countries should actively conduct more realistic programs rather than only sign agreements and statements. Educational development is one of the most important missions of every country nowadays. Therefore, the thesis has the considerations for not only single localities but also the whole country. It helps diversify the cooperating contents and forms.

13.Further research directions, if any:

The thesis's writer will continue to research and study the experiences and models of educational cooperation of other countries around the world to enhance the educational cooperation between the two countries.
