10. Summary of the thesis results:

This thesis presents theories on Facebook and its relationship with journalism. Specifically, it clarifies how information on Facebook is exploited and used to produce news. Through a survey of the current state of Facebook use in news production at three media outlets (Vietnamplus online newspaper, Sports and Culture newspaper, and Vietnam News Agency Television Channel), the thesis clarifies the process of exploiting information on Facebook for news production and the methods of managing fan pages in promoting news to the public. The survey highlights the successes and limitations at these three organizations. In Chapter 3, drawing on the experiences of journalism worldwide and in Vietnam, the thesis proposes several solutions for innovating the operations of media organizations. The author also addresses trends and strategies for media organizations in dealing with social media in general and Facebook in particular.

This will be applied to innovating the way social media is used in news agencies, specifically the Vietnam News Agency, and in Vietnam in general.

The thesis provides theories about Facebook and the relationship between this social network and the press. The thesis has specifically indicated how to exploit and use information on Facebook to produce news. In the survey of Facebook use in news production at three press agencies, including Vietnamplus online newspaper, Sports and Culture newspaper and Vnews television chanel, the thesis explains the process of exploiting information on Facebook to produce news and the way to manage fan-pages in the news broadcast to the public. Through the survey, the author points out the successes and limitations of these three agencies in the exploitation. In Chapter 3, in the study of experiences of the world and Vietnamese press, the thesis proposed a number of innovative solutions for press agencies' management. The author also mentioned the trends and strategies for the media in dealing with social networking in general and Facebook in particular.
