10. Summary of the thesis results:

Based on theoretical and practical foundations regarding the role of television; the potential and strengths of Hai Phong city's marine and island economic development, this thesis affirms the important role of television in informing and promoting the development of Hai Phong's marine and island economy. Through a survey of propaganda works on Hai Phong's marine and island economic development broadcast on VTV1, Vietnam News Agency Television, and Hai Phong Television from June 2016 to March 2017; and a survey of public reception needs and the development trends of modern television, the thesis clarifies the advantages and limitations in disseminating information about Hai Phong's marine and island economic development on television today. Based on the assessment of new requirements in the propaganda work on Hai Phong's marine and island economic development, the thesis proposes solutions regarding policy mechanisms; innovation in the form and content of information; and improvement of the quality of reporters and editors. Regarding the establishment of a coordination mechanism to improve the quality of propaganda on the economic development of Hai Phong's coastal and island areas on central and local television channels in the coming period.

11. Practical applications:

This thesis serves as a reference document for managers to use in developing communication plans for the economic development of coastal and island areas; and for media agencies such as VTV1, Vietnam News Agency Television, and Hai Phong Radio and Television Station to apply in the process of planning, producing, and broadcasting television programs about the economic development of Hai Phong's coastal and island areas.

From the theoretical basis and the facts of television role; the potentials and strengths of Hai Phong city's marine economic development, the essay affirms the important role of television in contributing to the development of the marine economy in Hai Phong. Through focusing on TV programs about Hai Phong marine economic development, which broadcasting on VTV1, Hai Phong Television and other channels in the period from 6/2016 to 3/2017; the need of viewing audience and the development trend of modern television, this thesis clarifies the advantages and limitations on communicating Hai Phong marine economic development on television. In addition, this thesis proposes solutions on policy, imformation broadcast, and journalists' skills in order to improve the quality of TV programs about marine economic development in the future.
