10. Summary of thesis results:

The thesis takes the research object as the religious culture in the Ha Tay area (old) in relation to tourism development, specifically the trend of developing cultural tourism - spiritual tourism which is developing very strongly in Vietnam. The thesis has clarified the position and role of religious cultural tourism in the system of cultural tourism products in general, spiritual tourism in particular. Affirming the importance of religious cultural tourism based on the large number of resources; having traditional cultural values, historical depth, importance in people's consciousness and the need to conduct tourism with the purpose of satisfying this spiritual and mental need is growing strongly.

The thesis has proposed 9 basic solutions to develop the type of cultural and religious tourism in accordance with its potential and prospects and to have a position commensurate with other types of cultural and spiritual tourism: Buddhist pilgrimage tourism, which currently accounts for 90% of the total number of visitors of this type of tourism. The solutions of the thesis have proposed a number of new solutions such as building a mechanism for coordination of actions between tourism entities, comparing development experiences in other areas and flexibly applying them to the area of ​​Ha Tay (old).

The thesis analyzed major faiths at the West area of ​​Hanoi city in details, from the aspects of tourism industry. The author brought out the meaning of tourism-based-traditional major faiths that contrasts the spiritual tourism in general. In the thesis, the author abstracted experience of development of this kind from adjacent cities, districts in tourism field and practiced SWOT analysis to sumarize the reductions that are suitable to apply in old Ha Tay district (now belongs to Hanoi city). The new findings include the solutions that make tourism-based- traditional major faiths become popular tourism activities and makes it as glorious as tourism – based Buddha religion in Hanoi.

Nine solutions are proper to tourism development strategies of Vietnam and Hanoi city. They include some new ways to retrieve economic and social effects.

The thesis can open new fields that research spiritual tourism in details as: communication halls in tourism development process, exploiting the temples to develop tourism and reserve traditional culture, tourism demand of traditional folklore…
