10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis initially clarifies the current state of science and technology communication on the electronic portals of the three Departments of Science and Technology in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai; evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of the three electronic portals in science and technology communication activities; clarifies the causes; and proposes solutions to improve the effectiveness of communication on these three electronic portals.
Through surveys, synthesis, and analysis of public needs and information trends on three online portals, it was found that the information is highly reliable and useful for reporters, journalists, and intellectuals. However, the information on all three portals is not yet truly rich, diverse, or engaging for the public. Therefore, all online portals must improve the quality of their content and format to meet public needs.
With the research results obtained, this thesis contributes to supplementing and enriching modern communication theory, specifically the role, function, and effectiveness of electronic portals; providing additional theoretical and scientific basis for science and technology communication. Based on scientific and practical arguments, the author initially proposes ways of writing and presenting information on electronic portals to meet the requirements and professionalism of the new era.
11. Practical applications:
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of science and technology communication on the electronic portals of the Departments of Science and Technology, and to propose solutions to improve the effectiveness of science and technology communication. The proposed solutions in this thesis will serve as a basis for contributing to the successful implementation of Vietnam's science and technology development strategy 2011-2020, of which science and technology communication and dissemination is one of the six main solutions to be implemented.
12. Future research directions:
Based on the results of this thesis, further research can be conducted on: science and technology communication on the electronic portals of the 63 Departments of Science and Technology nationwide, or expanded to include electronic portals of other sectors to draw lessons on improving the effectiveness of communication on electronic portals in general.
